Hotels in development across the U.S. include the fifth Courtyard by Marriott in Washington, DC; a Bulgari Resort in Los Angeles and more.
Courtyard by Marriott Washington, DC Dupont Circle
Courtyard by Marriott will return to the Dupont Circle neighborhood in Washington, DC, with the Courtyard by Marriott Washington, DC Dupont Circle expected to open next month. The hotel is close to Embassy Row, the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle and the National Geographic Museum.
The 10-story property will have 143 guestrooms, each with Smart TVs with streaming capabilities. The lobby features check-in pods and semi-private high-backed booths. Other amenities include a fitness center and two food & beverage options.
This Courtyard by Marriott in Dupont Circle will be the brand’s fifth hotel in the nation’s capital.
The Bulgari Resort Los Angeles
Bulgari Hotels & Resorts has signed an agreement with owner and developer Gary Safady, for a new Bulgari Resort in Los Angeles. Scheduled to open in 2025, it will be the second Bulgari property in the U.S., following the opening in Miami in 2024. The Bulgari Resort Los Angeles is expected to be the 12th property in the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts collection.
Located in the Santa Monica Mountains, less than five miles from Rodeo Drive, the resort is expected to have 58 rooms and suites, eight private estates and the signature Bulgari Il Ristorante, as well as a 10,000-sq.-ft. spa, a gym, a cinema and an exclusive eight-seat sushi bar.
A good portion of the resort’s guestrooms and suites will be located in secluded bungalows located across the eastern half of the property.
Thompson Buckhead, in the Atlanta suburb, is expected to open early this winter. The 10-story hotel will be designed by the architects of Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio and built under general contractors Brasfield & Gorrie. Interiors will be designed by Studio 11.
Located in the center of the Buckhead Village neighborhood, the hotel will have 201 guestrooms and suites featuring chevron-patterned wood floors, area rugs and marble mosaics. Every room will offer skyline views, custom 400-thread count Sferra linens, Sealy Tempur-Pedic mattresses, D.S. & Durga bath products, oversized Thompson Hotels branded signature robes and a locally curated minibar.
Guests of the hotel’s suites and ninth-floor rooms will have access to Tesserae, the hotel’s private membership rooftop club offering exclusive F&B amenities and access to privately curated events. Other amenities include a rooftop pool with private cabanas; Dirty Rascal restaurant; and more than 4,100 sq. ft. of meeting and event space.
The Study at Johns Hopkins
Study Hotels will continue its growth into top-tier university markets with its fourth property, The Study at Johns Hopkins.
The plan for adaptive reuse will transform the existing Blackstone Apartments into a 115-room hotel, which will be located at the main gate of Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood Campus, and as part of the Charles Village corridor.
The hotel’s Living Room will encourage social interaction. The space will be furnished with a mix of transitional and contemporary style furniture. A large bookcase, a hallmark feature of the Study Hotels Living Room, will showcase books written by Johns Hopkins University authors and scholars.
